Dress Code

A dress code serves several purposes; it helps eliminate distractions, allows dancers to move properly, improves confidence, creates cohesiveness, and allows the teacher to see students’ alignment. In addition to the dress code outlined below, hair should be pulled back off of face. In all ballet classes, hair should be pulled back in a bun or braided and pinned securely. Please pin bangs back for dance class. Below are links that may be helpful. Brand are not required. I selected styles and brands that are good quality.

MOVE AND GROOVE

Comfortable clothing and bare feet

Female identifying:

PRESCHOOL

• Black Leotard

• Skin Colored Convertible Tights

• Pink or Black Ballet Shoes

• Black Tap shoes

BALLET 

• Black Leotard

• Skin Colored Tights

• Ballet Shoes (Hanami by Capezio has a variety of inclusive colors)

• Optional: Ballet Sweater, Leg Warmers, Ballet Skirt

JAZZ, TAP, AND LYRICAL

• Black Leotard

• Black, Pink or Tan Tights

• Black or Tan Jazz Shoes for Jazz

• Black Oxford Style Tap Shoes for Tap

• Bare Feet for Lyrical

HIP HOP

• Comfortable clothing (no jeans)

• Clean, indoor sneakers

Male identifying:

• White or Black Form Fitting T-Shirt

• Black Ballet Shoes

• Black Tap shoes

BALLET 

• Black Sweatpants or Shorts (not baggy)
